Police have initiated legal proceedings against at least two BJP councillors and several others after a violent confrontation occurred between Maharashtra Navnirman Sena activists and BJP members in the Ambernath area of Thane district. This action follows a cross-complaint filed by the involved parties, as confirmed by officials on Sunday.
The FIR stated that Ghag was struck with an iron rod on his head and right hand, kicked and punched. Police have registered a case on Ghat’s complaint under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita and are investigating further. Nobody has been arrested so far.

The attackers also damaged his vehicle by throwing flower pots and breaking its windows, police said.
