In a significant victory for student protesters in Ranchi, the Jharkhand government has agreed to key demands, resulting in the cancellation of all exams conducted by TSR Data Processing Pvt Ltd, including the JSSC-CGL. The decision came after celebrations erupted at the protest site, reflecting the students’ relief and satisfaction with the government’s response to their grievances.
Taspirants were seen getting emotional as they celebrated after the state government accepted their demands. The cancellation of JSSC-CGL examinations has been a major demand of protestors. “We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the students, parents, members of the media, the police administration, and especially the Jharkhand government and Chief Minister Hemant Soren for supporting and cooperating with this movement. We express our gratitude for taking the students’ issues seriously and fulfilling our demands; most importantly, the investigation is being conducted meticulously, and every corrupt individual involved is being apprehended.
Student leader Devendra Nath Mahato, who has been on an indefinite hunger strike on the issue, thanked chief minister Hemant Soren and the Jharkhand government, but also said that the agitators were “not fully satisfied”. They are making a concerted effort to reach the true kingpins behind these gangs,” Mahto said.
