Tamil Nadu Allocates Rs 351 Crore to Expand Medical Education Capacity

The Tamil Nadu government is investing Rs 351 crore to enhance student admission capacity in government medical colleges. This initiative will create a total of 6,098 additional seats aimed at developing healthcare professionals.

The allocation includes 660 new seats for BSc Nursing, 1,925 seats in nursing colleges and schools, 2,778 seats across 12 paramedical courses, and 735 additional seats in medical courses. This expansion is part of the government’s broader effort to strengthen the healthcare education sector in the state.
