Authorities in Maharashtra’s Beed district have initiated an investigation following a serious incident involving a 19-year-old woman. After undergoing a Caesarean section at a government hospital, it was discovered that gloves and paper had been mistakenly left inside her abdomen. A senior health official confirmed the situation on Wednesday, highlighting the need for a thorough review of the surgical procedures in place.
The woman’s relatives lodged a complaint with the district hospital administration on Tuesday. The probe panel arrived at the Beed District Hospital on Wednesday afternoon and began an investigation, the official said. A C-section was performed on her the same evening. After the matter was escalated to the Deputy Director of Health Services (Latur Circle), a special inquiry committee was formed.
