The Board signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Amazon in Gandhinagar in the presence of Gujarat Education Minister Dr Pradyuman Vaja, reported PTI. The Gujarat State Board of School Textbooks has partnered with Amazon to make school textbooks easier for students and parents to buy online. Under the partnership, students and parents will be able to order textbooks online through Amazon and get them delivered to their homes.
The initiative is mainly aimed at students studying in private and self-financed schools. Those who need additional textbooks will be able to order them online instead of visiting bookstores or distributors.
Amazon’s delivery network will help ensure that textbooks reach students on time, according to the Board. Amazon India Category Leader for Books Rashi Bahadur said access to quality educational content should not become a barrier for students. She said the company was pleased to partner with Gujarat to make educational material more accessible and affordable.
