On Sunday, an out-of-control car collided with an SUV at the ITO traffic signal in Delhi, resulting in injuries to two MLAs among several others. The incident occurred in front of the old Police Headquarters, as confirmed by local police.

Police teams reached the spot and found two damaged vehicles, both bearing Delhi registration numbers. Regarding the occupants of the SUV and their current medical status, the police added: “The Innova was occupied by Anil Jha, sitting MLA from Kirari Vidhan Sabha, and Abhay Patil, MLA from Karnataka. All persons sustained minor injuries and were shifted to LNJP Hospital. All are in stable condition. The collision caused extensive damage to the front section of the SUV. Fire Brigade personnel were called to the spot to help remove the damaged vehicles from the road and restore traffic movement.

The IP Estate police station received a call about the accident at around 9.30pm, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (central) Rohit Ranbir Singh.

“As per the preliminary inquiry, the hatchback was being driven by a 32-year-old resident of Delhi’s Arya Nagar, who was travelling towards ITO from Laxmi Nagar along with his wife and two minor children,” Singh was quoted as saying by a HT repor t published earlier.
