In an Instagram video, the woman named Manju Shekhawat Parmar revealed that she hired a local worker to clean the rainwater drains along the edge of her roof. The entire process took only 20 minutes, yet the service provider charged her 92 pounds, which in Indian currency is roughly Rs 12,000.
An Indian woman living in the United Kingdom sparked a debate as she said that she was surprised when a maintenance worker charged a hefty amount for a small task.

In her video, Parmar showed the worker climbing a ladder to reach the roof gutters, which were clogged with accumulated dirt and dry leaves. The worker cleared it, collected it in a bucket, and showed her the removed waste. She was shocked at how fast the worker finished and the rate charged for such a short duration. “Back in India, we used to clean the roof ourselves. Here in England, there isn’t even a ladder to reach the roof, so what’s a guy supposed to do? “It’s not a matter of time, it’s the cost of skill and risk. If we can do this by ourselves, then we don’t need to pay anything,” one user wrote in the comment section.

“In 20 minutes, 92 pounds, which is around 12,000 rupees,” she noted in the clip. The roof itself would probably say, ‘I want professional treatment too,'” she said in the comment section.
“Simple tally – India average salary 21-31k UK avg salary 350k per month. 10 times higher. 1000 k kam ka 10k liye same value,” another user shared their opinion.
“We do it ourselves, Ma’am; you could have done it too,” a third user noted.
