A 56-year-old Indian man has been shot dead during a robbery inside his shop in the US, with the suspect still on the run. The victim, identified as Suresh Parsottamdas Patel from Gujarat’s Mehsana, was killed during an armed robbery at his shop in Tennessee’s Jackson on August 20.
“Suresh Patel had been living in Chicago for a long time and had started his new store in Jackson City just a week before the incident,” he said.
Robbery and Shooting at New Shop in Mehsana
Suresh Parsottamdas Patel, the owner of Ridgecrest Cellars, was shot during a robbery at his new shop in Mehsana, Gujarat, just days after its opening. The incident occurred around 9 pm when police received reports of the shooting and robbery. A 70-year-old employee, who had been with the store since its opening, sustained a broken wrist while trying to escape the chaos.
Authorities described the suspect as a Black male wearing a grey hoodie, jeans, and black work-style boots. His face was concealed by a paintball-style mask, and he was last seen fleeing the scene in a white sedan. Police have released three images captured from the store’s security footage in hopes of identifying the suspect.
