Punjab Political Tensions Rise Ahead of 2027 Elections
The political landscape in Punjab is heating up as the BJP intensifies its criticism of the AAP government in the lead-up to the 2027 Assembly elections. Punjab BJP president Kewal Singh Dhillon distanced himself from a controversial video, stating he had not viewed it. “It is not that we want to insult the chief minister. I have great respect for him. If there is any such video, I condemn it,” Dhillon remarked.
In response, former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi criticized the Mann government for its management of politically sensitive videos. He expressed concern that if an authentic video is sent for analysis and later deemed fake, he would oppose that decision as well.

He stated, “Those who are making and uploading such AI videos are wrong. We will oppose this and everyone should remain within limits.” Channi emphasized the need for political decorum and urged opponents to adhere to ethical standards in their communications.
