The owner of a firecracker factory, where a devastating explosion occurred along the Prayagraj-Kaushambi border, has been arrested following a police encounter on Tuesday. The blast resulted in the tragic loss of 11 lives. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Eleven people, including eight children, lost their lives in the incident. The owner Naushad was intercepted by a police team around 4am on Tuesday in the Saiyad Sarawan area in Kaushambi. The police retaliated, and a bullet hit him in the leg. He was subsequently admitted to a hospital for treatment. Several others sustained injuries including five, who are undergoing treatment in hospitals.
When the team tried to stop him, Naushad opened fire, according to police. Police said an illegal pistol and cartridges were recovered from his possession.
FIR Filed Against Family for Illegal Firecracker Manufacturing
A first information report (FIR) has been filed against six family members for allegedly engaging in the large-scale illegal manufacture and storage of firecrackers. The report claims that these activities were conducted within residential premises and lacked proper safety measures, raising serious concerns about public safety.
