Air India has started voluntary testing of 100% of its pilots after the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) flagged the “serious concern” of psychoactive substance use by the pilot-in-command of a Phuket-Delhi flight that lost 300 feet of altitude last month.
Air India Collaborates with AAIB Investigation
Air India confirmed on Friday that it is fully cooperating with the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) as they probe a recent incident. The airline has granted access to all pertinent operational, maintenance, and technical records required for the investigation.
An Air India spokesperson stated, “We acknowledge the release of the preliminary report by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) and continue to extend our full cooperation to the investigation, including providing access to all relevant operational, maintenance and technical records. Safety remains Air India’s highest priority.”
