An official in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (I&B) confirmed the change in the city to HT. The ceremony for the 72nd National Film Awards (NFA) will be held in Gujarat’s Kevadia, a shift from the 72-year-old tradition of the star-studded event taking place at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.
Winners of Recent Film Awards Announced
Article 370 took home the award for “Best Feature Film,” while Yami Gautam earned the title of “Best Actress in a Leading Role” for her performance in the same film. In a notable tie, Mammootty and Kartik Aaryan were jointly recognized as “Best Actor in a Leading Role” for their roles in Bramayugam and Chandu Champion, respectively.
Rajkumar Periasamy received the award for “Best Direction” for the Tamil-language war drama Amaran. Randeep Hooda was honored as “Best Debut Director” for his work on Swatantrya Veer Savarkar. Additionally, Kalki 2898 AD was awarded “Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment,” while Captain Miller was distinguished as the “Best Feature Film Promoting National, Social and Environmental Values.”
In the supporting categories, veteran actor Sanjay Mishra won “Best Supporting Actor” for Bhakshak, and the “Best Supporting Actress” award was shared by Sachana Namidass for Maharaja and Ropashree Varkady for Mithya.
