An unidentified woman has emerged as a missing link in the murder case registered in the death of Disha Salian, former manager of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, officials involved with the investigation have told NDTV.
Bombay High Court Orders CBI Probe into Disha Salian’s Death
On September 2, the Bombay High Court directed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to investigate the circumstances surrounding Disha Salian’s death. This action followed a petition from her father, Satish Salian, who claimed that the Mumbai Police had mishandled the initial investigation.
The court criticized the police for not registering a First Information Report (FIR) for six years, stating that the case had “raised more questions than answers” and highlighted significant discrepancies in the investigation. Additionally, the court noted that Salian’s family had not received copies of her post-mortem report or the Accidental Death Report (ADR), despite the lengthy passage of time since her death.
The police had initially classified Salian’s death as a suicide after conducting an inquiry, but her father has since alleged that she was murdered, prompting his appeal to the High Court last year.
Who Took Salian To Hospital?
The CBI registered the FIR on Monday under sections for murder and related offences, officials said. The detail has surfaced days after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered an FIR in the case. Aaditya Thackeray has denied any link, as have others. Salian died after falling from the 14th floor of a residential building in Mumbai’s Malad area. She was taken to Shatabdi Hospital, where she was declared dead. It’s not clear if police have secured CCTV footage from the hospital’s entrance, parking, or emergency areas. Rajput was found dead at his Bandra flat days after Salian died.
In 2020, Mumbai Police denied any link between Salian’s death and Rajput’s.
The FIR lists Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aaditya Thackeray, actors Dino Morea, Sooraj Pancholi and Rhea Chakraborty, and the doctors and other medical staff among “people whose roles require investigation”.
