Hyderabad's 'Elevated Corridor' Plan To Ease Traffic Around KBR National Park

The Revanth Reddy government in Telangana has dropped its ambitious traffic decongestion plan around KBR National Park, replacing the earlier network of multiple flyovers and underpasses with now only a single 4.3-km elevated corridor connecting Jubilee Hills Check Post with NFCL Junction.

The revised proposal, approved by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Standing Committee on October 3, gave a green signal to six-lane, bidirectional steel flyover designed to provide signal-free movement across five major junctions.

Party working president and former Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) minister KT Rama Rao attacked the government over what he described as a costly policy reversal. the real test now is whether the new single-corridor strategy actually delivers the promised signal-free, congestion-free vehicular movement While BRS has made it a political agenda with questions thrown to the government over accountability and wastage of public money for Hyderabad daily commuters.
