New Flights Connect Ahmedabad to 15 Global Destinations
The Indian government has launched a new initiative to enhance air travel connectivity from Ahmedabad to 15 international destinations. This effort aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to elevate Indian civil aviation standards and improve accessibility under the UDAN scheme. The new hub-and-spoke operation will feature two daily flights connecting through Delhi, ensuring a seamless transit within a four-hour window.
Passengers will benefit from a generous baggage allowance of 32 kg, which will be checked at the origin airport. Minister of State Murlidhar Mohol announced that over 2,100 passengers have already taken advantage of this service during its initial phase. This initiative is part of a broader goal to connect an additional 100 million passengers and upgrade 100 airports over the next decade. Enhanced passenger amenities, such as the ‘Udan Yatri Cafe,’ and significant fleet expansions by Indian airlines, which include over 1,600 new aircraft, are also on the horizon.
