Ahead of the 18th BRICS Leaders’ Summit at Bharat Mandapam, Delhi Police on Friday issued a traffic advisory announcing diversions and regulated vehicle movement across key routes in the national capital on Saturday, September 12, citing the movement of VVIPs and international dignitaries.
Delhi Police Implement Traffic Diversions Ahead of BRICS Summit
Delhi Police have announced traffic diversions and restrictions in the city to minimize disruptions during the BRICS Summit. Multiple diversion points have been established around affected areas, with vehicles rerouted through alternative corridors, including sections of the Ring Road and other major roads.
Commuters are advised to plan their journeys ahead of time and allow for extra travel time due to these restrictions. The police are urging the public to opt for public transport, particularly the Metro, to avoid delays and reduce congestion on affected routes.
Traffic personnel will be on-site to guide commuters along designated diversion routes, and emergency and essential-service vehicles will receive priority passage.
In a related note, the Delhi Traffic Police responded to a request from a CDS aspirant about early morning Metro services to ensure timely arrival at the examination center before the reporting time.
