A woman from Bengaluru has reported that a man she met on Instagram threatened and extorted her. She claims he psychologically abused her by using explicit photographs that he allegedly obtained without her consent. The incident highlights growing concerns about online safety and the potential for misuse of social media platforms.

Allegations of Extortion and Theft in Bengaluru

Anfal is accused of threatening a woman in April 2026 after taking her to a hotel. He allegedly used compromising photographs to intimidate her. When she claimed she had no money, he forcibly removed a gold chain weighing approximately 10 to 12 grams from her neck and warned her against reporting the incident.

The woman’s parents became aware of the situation on September 4, 2026, when they brought her to Bengaluru and questioned her about the events. Following this discussion, her father contacted the police on September 8 to initiate legal action against Anfal.

Further investigation into the matter is underway. Police have registered a case under various provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 66(E) of the Information Technology Act.
