The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said on Saturday that the names of former chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and his family have gone missing from Delhi’s voter list, referring to the draft and the notices issued under the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) by the Election Commission. Because they did not map themselves to the previous SIR list, an EC official later clarified that they will be added to the final list, to come on November 6, as notices have been issued only.
Electoral Notices Issued to 31 Lakh Voters
Over 31 lakh voters have received notices regarding discrepancies in their electoral registrations, according to details released on Saturday. The draft voter list now includes 97.5 lakh names after 47.5 lakh individuals were removed for reasons such as permanent relocation, death, or multiple registrations.
Among those affected is Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, who faced an age discrepancy issue related to her parents. However, the electoral registration officer for Shalimar Bagh constituency has confirmed that her details have been verified, and she has been added to the final list.
