Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has publicly criticized Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal. Saini accused them of misleading the people of Punjab and neglecting significant issues affecting the state. His remarks highlight ongoing tensions between the political leaders as they grapple with governance challenges in Punjab.
Saini’s Personal Connection to Sikh Traditions
Saini emphasized that for him, wearing a dastar is not a political statement but a reflection of his longstanding respect for Sikh traditions. He highlighted his involvement in events related to the Sikh Gurus, noting that he has donned the turban during these occasions. One such event he mentioned was the Veer Bal Diwas program held in Kurukshetra, a site he described as significant due to its association with the Gurus’ legacy.
The Haryana government has also accused the AAP government of failing to fulfil its promises on drugs and employment. Saini questioned whether the government had properly understood the process and time involved in dealing with such cases.
Saini also targeted Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal, alleging that Kejriwal continues to have a strong role in Punjab despite being based in Delhi. He accused Kejriwal of running what he described as propaganda about Punjab and Punjabis before people in the country and abroad.
Saini said it appeared as if Kejriwal was still running the Punjab government.
