The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that it will conduct new Class 12 board exams for eligible students in West Asian countries. This decision comes after the 2026 board exams were unable to take place in the region due to ongoing local circumstances.
Students can appear in subjects of their choice.
However, the result of the fresh exam will be final and will replace their earlier result.
CBSE to Hold Class 12 Board Exams in West Asia After 2026 Disruptions
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced plans to conduct fresh Class 12 board exams in West Asian countries where the 2026 exams were canceled due to regional issues. This decision follows a notification issued on September 15, 2026, stating that exams in 40 subjects—including 20 academic and 20 skill subjects—could not take place in these regions.
Previously, the Board implemented an assessment scheme on March 27, 2026, which allowed results for regular candidates to be declared on May 13. Private candidates later received their results under the same scheme.
Now, eligible Class 12 students whose results were announced through this assessment scheme can register for the upcoming exams. Regular students from CBSE-affiliated schools in the affected countries may participate if their List of Candidates (LOC) for the 2026 main exams was submitted, and their results were processed under the assessment scheme. Similarly, private candidates who filled out examination forms for the 2026 main exams and received results under the assessment scheme can also apply for the fresh exams.
