A woman has been accused of fatally stabbing her husband in the abdomen, leading to severe injuries that resulted in his intestines spilling out. The incident occurred at their rented home near Raj Palace on Pehowa Road in Kurukshetra, according to police reports. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the attack.
After stabbing the husband, the woman tried to stuff his intestines into a plastic bag on the terrace of the building, reported news agency PTI. The husband’s right kidney and part of his liver were missing, the post-mortem report has revealed. The police are probing if there is link between the disappearance of the organs and the killing.
She was caught in the act by the landlord who reached the spot after hearing a loud argument between the couple at 5 pm.
Motive of the murder not known
Police have recovered three knives of different sizes from the scene. But the motive of the murder is not known yet. Police will question the woman once she is medically fit to be questioned.
Adarsh police station SHO Surender Sandhu said Devi was undergoing treatment and would be questioned after her condition improves. Police will proceed with her arrest and interrogation accordingly, he said.
The intestines were spilling out. The deceased husband, who belonged to Dhampur village in Uttar Pradesh, had been living in Kurukshetra with his wife for about a year and was employed as a water-supply worker with a company. The couple had no children.
About half of the deceased’s liver and his right kidney were missing, and a deep incision of about 37 centimetres was found on the abdomen, according to forensic expert Dr Gaurav Kaushik.
