The Railway Board has approved 5,165 vacancies for the upcoming Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) recruitment 2026.
The Railway Board has asked Zonal Railways and Production Units to submit their final vacancy details through the OIRMS portal. The final indents must remain within the number of vacancies approved by the Board. The concerned units have also been directed to follow the required reservation rules for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, Economically Weaker Sections and other eligible categories.
The Board said that vacancies for the Station Master post at Pay Level 6 will be approved separately.
RRB NTPC 2026 Notification Expected Soon
They should also check the official Railway Recruitment Board websites for the confirmed application dates and other updates. The Railway Board approved these vacancies for the upcoming Centralised Employment Notification (CEN). The notification is expected to contain details about eligibility, age limit, application dates, exam pattern, selection process, application fee and Railway Recruitment Board-wise vacancies. Candidates interested in the recruitment should wait for the official notification before applying.
The approval was issued through a letter dated September 3, 2026, after the Board reviewed the vacancy details submitted by the Zonal Railways and Production Units.
