The Delhi government has introduced the 'Eat Well Live Well' programme in 75 CM SHRI Schools

The Delhi government has introduced the ‘Eat Well Live Well’ programme in 75 CM SHRI Schools. This initiative aims to promote healthy habits among students, impacting approximately 30,000 children. By focusing on nutrition and well-being, the programme seeks to enhance students’ everyday lives.

Instead, it will bring together wellbeing activities already being carried out and make them part of regular school life.

Speaking to ANI, Education Director Ankita Anand said the programme is not meant to create an additional burden for schools.

New Programme Focuses on Real-Life Skills for Students

A new educational initiative aims to equip students with practical life skills rather than traditional academic knowledge. The programme prioritizes everyday topics such as healthy food choices, food safety, hygiene, physical activity, mealtime habits, and the school environment.

Involving parents is a key aspect of this initiative, ensuring that the healthy habits learned at school can be reinforced at home.

Participating schools will establish Wellbeing Committees and implement a School Wellbeing Score. This system will allow schools to evaluate their current practices, identify areas for improvement, and monitor their progress over time.
