Who Is Singai Ramachandran? From IIMA To Tamil Nadu Startup Mission Chairperson

The Tamil Nadu government has officially appointed Singai G Ramachandran as the new Chairperson of the Tamil Nadu Startup and Innovation Mission (TANSIM). This decision was formalized through a government order from the state’s Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises department.

Ramachandran holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA). He is also an alumnus of PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore. Completing his Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) from PSG College of Technology from 2007 to 2010, Ramachandran pursued MBA from IIM Ahmedabad from 2013 to 2015.

Ramachandran’s Political and Entrepreneurial Journey

Ramachandran, a former entrepreneur, has transitioned into active politics, representing the AIADMK party. He is known for founding Campus Cafe in April 2015, an initiative aimed at improving college canteen services. Before his current role, he held significant positions within the AIADMK, including Secretary of the IT Wing and the Student Wing. Notably, he served as the Student Wing Secretary from January 2025 to July 2026. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, he contested from the Coimbatore constituency on an AIADMK ticket, further establishing his political presence in the region.
