A tragic accident occurred on Wednesday in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in the deaths of six individuals, including two women. The incident happened when a vehicle lost control and plunged into a ditch. In addition to the fatalities, three others sustained injuries in the crash. Fatal Accident in Surankote Claims Six Lives
A tragic accident occurred this evening in the Sheldhar area of Surankote, resulting in the deaths of six individuals and injuries to three others. Among the injured is a child, who is reported to be in critical condition. Poonch Deputy Commissioner Ashok Kumar Sharma confirmed the details to PTI, emphasizing the severity of the incident.
Chief Medical Officer, Poonch, Dr Pervez Khan said an information about the accident was received through the PCR, following which the 108 ambulance service, additional ambulances and other emergency resources were immediately dispatched to the site.
He said a rescue operation was launched immediately and the injured were rushed to hospital. Bodies of six persons – four men and two women – were brought to the district hospital, he said, adding the deceased were in the age group of 20 and 25 years.
