B Ramanath Rai, a former Karnataka minister and senior Congress leader, was injured in a road accident on Sunday. The incident occurred at Sanur Junction along the Karkala-Moodbidri highway. Alongside Rai, four other individuals also sustained injuries, according to police sources.
Former Minister Injured in Bus-SUV Collision
A private bus en route from Karkala to Moodbidri collided with an SUV carrying former minister Rai, resulting in significant damage to the SUV’s front. Rai was trapped inside the vehicle following the crash. Local residents quickly arrived at the scene and successfully extricated him after a challenging rescue operation. Both Rai and the injured passengers from the two vehicles were transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
