A 15-year-old boy who allegedly left his Delhi home following a dispute with his parents over his studies was traced in Ghaziabad after nearly 21 months, police said on Sunday.
Missing Boy Found After Extensive Search
A missing boy from Todapur was located and returned to his family after going missing on December 25, 2024. His disappearance prompted a kidnapping case at the Rajinder Nagar police station. According to a senior police officer, the boy had left home following his parents’ insistence on regular school attendance, which he was reportedly reluctant to pursue.
In the search for the boy, police teams reviewed footage from 153 CCTV cameras and visited 24 shelter homes and 27 orphanages across the Delhi-NCR region, along with various religious sites. Despite these efforts, no immediate clues were found.
The investigation took a positive turn when the boy was identified by his mother at the Rajinder Nagar police station, where he was subsequently handed over to the investigating officer.
“He deliberately stayed away from his family and police and worked at hotels and shops to sustain himself during the period,” the officer said.
