CBI subsequently sought his provisional arrest through Interpol channels in March 2025. Cambodian authorities arrested Dhilla on July 24, 2025, following coordination with Indian agencies. He was formally arrested after his arrival in Delhi in September 2025 and has since been serving the reminder of his term.
Simardeep Singh, superintendent of police, Jhajjar said that elaborate security arrangements were made at the venue, with personnel deployed around the farmhouse and checks conducted on people entering the premises.
Life Sentence for Jhajjar Resident Linked to Violent Crimes
Dhilla, a resident of Badli village in Jhajjar district, is currently serving a life sentence for his involvement in a murder case from 2007 in Bahadurgarh. He was convicted in April 2013 for multiple charges, including murder, attempted murder, illegal use of firearms, and criminal conspiracy. In addition to this case, officials confirmed that he has also been convicted in two other criminal cases.
