A school teacher allegedly killed his wife and three children in a machete attack in Assam’s Jonai early on Wednesday, police said. The accused, identified as 55-year-old Firoz Ali, has been taken into custody and a probe is underway.

A tragic incident occurred this morning in the Telam Bazar area of Jonai, where a man reportedly attacked four family members with a machete. Firoz Ali has been arrested for the alleged killings of his wife and three minor children.
Local residents reported that after the attack, Firoz was restrained by the community until police arrived. A witness stated, “In the morning, we learnt that Firoz had killed his wife and three children. We immediately caught him and tied him to a pole. He had killed his entire family.”
Authorities confirmed that Firoz confessed to the murders during his initial interrogation. A police official stated, “We have arrested Firoz for killing his wife and three children. We have begun our investigation and are examining all possible angles. He remains in our custody for further investigation.”
Police and forensic teams visited the crime scene to collect evidence as part of their ongoing investigation into this shocking event.
