Nagpur woman held after high-speed crash injures 7, including 3 children: Police

A 32-year-old woman was arrested in Nagpur late Tuesday night after allegedly driving her car at high speed into another SUV. The incident, which occurred near Gorewada Lake, resulted in multiple collisions that injured seven people, including three children, according to police reports. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash, which has raised concerns about road safety in the area.

Public Outcry Following Crash Incident

A crash in Gond Mohalla has ignited significant public outrage. By midnight, over 500 residents from Gond Mohalla and nearby areas gathered at the Gittikhadan police station, demanding swift action against the driver involved. In a show of anger, the crowd vandalized the woman’s vehicle while she was inside the station, highlighting the community’s frustration and urgency for accountability.

The woman then continued driving her car at high speed, striking three children who were walking on the road before hitting two more persons identified as Harish Rambhau Revatkar and Ashish Nakhate.

According to the police the series of collisions began when the woman’s car hit Balu Kulmethe who was stepping out of his vehicle with his daughter.
