Imphal, Manipur Home Minister Govindas Konthoujam on Monday said “no act of violence will be allowed to derail the state’s path towards peace and normalcy”, a day after four people were killed in an attack on their villages by suspected militants.
Konthoujam Condemns Violence Following Tragic Incident in Manipur
In a recent post on X, Konthoujam expressed his deep anguish over the tragic shooting incident at Tollen Kuki Village, which resulted in the death of Lhingjangai Singsit. Her husband and young son were also injured in the attack.
Konthoujam stated, “Violence against innocent civilians is unacceptable and will be dealt with firmly.” He has directed the relevant authorities to thoroughly investigate the incident, identify those responsible, and ensure that justice is served without bias.
He emphasized that accountability is crucial, asserting, “Those responsible for this violence will be pursued in accordance with law and held accountable.”
Konthoujam further noted the importance of maintaining peace in Manipur, declaring, “At this critical juncture, no act of violence will be allowed to derail Manipur’s path towards peace and normalcy. The law will prevail, justice will be pursued, and peace will be protected.”
