The Bombay High Court has directed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of Disha Salian, a former celebrity manager, who passed away in 2020. This order was issued on Wednesday, emphasizing the need for a thorough examination of the case, which has drawn significant public interest and speculation since it occurred.
Father Claims Police Misconduct in Disha’s Death Case
Disha died on June 8, 2020, after falling from the 12th floor of a residential building in Mumbai’s Malad area, prompting the city police to file an Accidental Death Report (ADR). However, her father, Satish, has since raised serious allegations, claiming that Disha was raped and murdered. He has accused the police of concealing evidence to shield influential individuals involved in the case.
Last year, Satish filed a petition in the High Court, demanding a thorough investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). He argued that the High Court possesses the authority to order the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) to ensure justice for his family.
Pronouncing the order on a petition filed by Disha’s father, Satish Salian, the high court said no one must be treated as an accused unless the investigating officer finds sufficient material against the person.
