Ravneet Singh Bittu, a former Union Minister of State and BJP leader, reported that his convoy was attacked by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers. The incident occurred near Ghaseetpur village, close to Batala, as Bittu was en route from Amritsar to Pathankot. He was heading to the launch of the ‘Punjab Nasha Mukti Yatra,’ an initiative by the BJP aimed at addressing drug abuse in Punjab.
He alleged that a crowd gathered along the highway near Ghaseetpura station surrounded his vehicles, hurled eggs and tomatoes, and smashed the glass windows of his convoy cars.
According to Bittu, AAP workers were protesting against him as his cavalcade approached an office belonging to Joban Randhawa, AAP’s in-charge for the Fatehgarh Churian assembly constituency.
Bittu Reports Planned Attack to Authorities
Bittu has reported a serious incident involving an attempted attack on his vehicle, which he described as a planned effort to corner him. He has formally briefed Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) about the breach. Bittu is urging immediate legal action against those responsible for the attack.
