A man who shot wife, two priests, and took three children hostage in Uttar Pradesh’s Azamgarh on Tuesday has been killed in police encounter. During a standoff with the police, the man also shot at one of his children, a son.
Both the man and his son were sent to the hospital where they died of their injuries, police said.

In a shocking incident in Uttar Pradesh, Arvind Singh shot his wife, Babita Singh, and two priests on Tuesday evening. The violence erupted around 6 pm when Arvind returned home and discovered Babita, 32, participating in a religious ritual with priests Mahendra Pathak, 60, and Akhilesh Mishra, 50.
Following a heated argument, Arvind allegedly used his licensed firearm to shoot Babita first, then turned the gun on the two priests. After the shootings, he took his three children and barricaded himself in a room, leading to a tense standoff with authorities.
