Nottinghamshire have secured the services of India seamer Mukesh Kumar for the final two fixtures of the 2026 County Championship season. Kumar, who has 26 international caps across all formats, including three Test appearances, has taken 32 wickets for India. Hailing from the state of Bihar, the same region as 2025 overseas signing Ishan Kishan, the right-armer has 233 career First-Class wickets to his name at an average of just 21.79, as per the Nottinghamshire website.

Kumar has officially signed with Nottinghamshire as the team approaches a crucial phase in the season. He expressed excitement about coming to England and the opportunity to compete in county cricket. “I want to contribute as much as I can while I am here to help Nottinghamshire to success,” Kumar stated. In February 2024, Kumar achieved a remarkable milestone by taking 10 wickets for 50 runs in a Ranji Trophy match against Bihar, marking his best performance in first-class cricket. This victory was part of an innings win for his team.
As he prepares for his upcoming stint at Trent Bridge, this will be a significant moment in Kumar’s career, as it will be his first experience representing a domestic team outside of India.
