Concerns Raised Over Monsoon Preparedness in Gurugram

Recent rainfall has reignited concerns regarding the monsoon preparedness of the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) and the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA). Despite efforts to mitigate waterlogging, many areas experienced significant flooding during the rainy season.

Civic agencies undertook desilting of stormwater drains before and during the monsoon to improve drainage. Additionally, the MCG and GMDA initiated tenders for the installation of sump wells at various locations to further enhance drainage capabilities. However, the persistent waterlogging raises questions about the effectiveness of these measures.
