The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has partnered with the National Commission for Women (NCW) to introduce three new micro-credential courses. These courses will address critical topics including women’s issues, workplace safety, and gender awareness.

NCW Chairperson Vijaya K. IGNOU Vice Chancellor Uma Kanjilal also highlighted the importance of moving from awareness towards capacity building and behavioural change. Rahatkar said the programmes should remain learner-focused and practical so that knowledge can be applied in everyday life and workplaces.
New Educational Initiatives for Workplace Safety and Leadership
The POSH course aims to foster safer and more respectful workplaces. A women’s leadership program will enhance learners’ understanding of leadership, professional skills, and workplace participation. Meanwhile, a gender sensitization course will address gender-related issues from social and cultural angles.
IGNOU will oversee the academic framework, develop the curriculum, provide digital hosting, and offer learner support and certification. The NCW will supply thematic content, pinpoint priority areas, and assist with outreach efforts.
