The Supreme Court has intervened in the case involving Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, related to allegations of disproportionate assets. On Monday, the court ordered the Allahabad High Court to pause any further proceedings in this matter for the time being. This decision comes as a significant relief for Gandhi amidst ongoing legal challenges.

High Court Reviews Plea Against Congress Leader

The high court is currently examining a plea requesting an investigation by the CBI and the ED into allegations of disproportionate assets against a Congress leader. This comes after Vignesh, a BJP worker, previously submitted claims asserting that the Congress leader possesses dual citizenship.

In response to the case, the high court has granted the Union government four weeks to submit detailed counter affidavits from several departments, including the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), the Department of Revenue under the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, and the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO).
