A video circulating on social media has sparked concerns about food safety at PAUL bakery in Pune. The footage reportedly shows a live worm crawling inside a slice of dessert purchased from the establishment. This incident has raised fresh alarms regarding the quality and hygiene standards of food served to customers.

The video, though old, has surfaced on social media now, days after a separate worm-related complaint at a PAUL outlet in Gurugram. A man found a live worm in a sandwich at the PAUL restaurant at One Horizon Centre on Gurugram’s Golf Course Road. The customer, Sulabh Mathur, had eaten a part of the sandwich before he spotted a worm crawling inside his food. We were horrified to find A LIVE WORM in their Ceasars Salad! (sic)” the customer captioned the video on Instagram. “Extremely disturbing and concerning. Food hygiene compromised,” he added.

“We went for breakfast around 11 AM and ordered 6-7 dishes.

After the post went viral, Mathur received a message from the restaurant management, seeking to apologise for the “unfortunate experience”. Sharing a screenshot of a conversation with the restaurant management, Mathur said the dining facility is “trying to apologise and move on”.

“Couple of months back I took parcel for home from Paul bakery in Phoenix Mall in Viman Nagar, Pune. And found a worm in It,” he added.

The food was purchased from PAUL Bakery at Phoenix Marketcity in Pune’s Viman Nagar area, according to a post on X. PAUL Bakery and Cafe claims to offer a “truly French casual dining experience” and has 12 outlets across India. “PAUL bakery products are pathetic,” a customer wrote on X with a video showing a worm in food he got from PAUL bakery.
