Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), announced on Saturday that the official Instagram account for the CJP movement has been removed. He shared screenshots indicating that the account is currently unavailable.
“@Meta, I have lost access to my Instagram account. Trying to recover it but unable to,” he wrote in another post. The Cockroach party will launch its ‘School Thik Karo’ campaign in Dipke’s village in Maharashtra’s Hingoli district on Independence Day. The campaign aims to improve infrastructure and accountability in rural government schools.
Speaking to reporters after returning from Delhi, Dipke said, “I will commence the ‘School Thik Karo’ campaign in my village and request the sarpanch there to repair the local government school and make sure that the school has the basic amenities like benches and drinking water.” The campaign was scheduled to begin at Santuk Pimpri village at 7:30am, according to an official release issued on Friday.
The CJP said on X that Meta had removed the movement’s Instagram handle, but the party later managed to regain access to the account. “We will not be intimidated by such cowardly acts!” it further said. In May this year, Dipke had claimed that his Instagram account was “hacked” and that he could not access it. He had also said that Meta took down the backup Instagram account used by the CJP. In a post on X, Dipke said that his Instagram account “has been hacked”.
