On Wednesday, the Malkajgiri special operations team, in collaboration with the Malkajgiri Food Adulteration Surveillance Team (MFAST), conducted raids at two food manufacturing units in Hyderabad. During these operations, officials seized approximately 500 kg of various products, including paneer, skimmed milk powder, cooking oil, Dalda, and prepared halwa. The raids aimed to combat food adulteration and ensure public safety regarding food quality.
Local Food Safety Raids Target Substandard Products
In a recent enforcement action, officials conducted raids on Natraj Milk & Milk Food Products in Alwal and Yashoda Sweet & Namkeen in Bowrampet, Dundigal. This initiative aims to prevent the manufacture and sale of substandard food items. During the inspection at Natraj Milk, authorities discovered owner Japala Natraj allegedly preparing paneer with skimmed milk powder.
These seizures are part of a broader strategy to protect the food supply chain and ensure public health safety. Ten enforcement teams, including food safety officers and police, inspected 20 establishments, collecting 18 samples suspected of adulteration. Improvement notices were issued to 10 establishments, while three others are facing proposed show-cause notices.
Further legal actions will be determined based on the investigation’s findings and the analysis of food samples.
