On Tuesday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma introduced the Chief Minister’s Foreign Language Initiative for Global Human Talent (CM-FLIGHT). This state program aims to equip young individuals with foreign language skills, enhancing their job prospects both in India and abroad. The initiative reflects a commitment to fostering global opportunities for the youth of Assam.
Assam’s Initiative to Train Youth for Global Job Market
At a recent launch event, Chief Minister Sarma announced that 24 trainees have successfully passed the JFT-Basic Japanese language examination. The government aims to expand this training program to additional colleges and universities, with a goal of equipping at least 10,000 young people with essential skills.
Sarma emphasized the growing number of Japanese companies operating in India and the increasing demand for skilled workers in international markets. He highlighted how trained Assamese youth could seize these employment opportunities.
To support this initiative, the Education and Skill departments will collaborate to promote the program within educational institutions. Additionally, the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) will play a crucial role in delivering skill-based training.
This initiative is part of Assam’s broader strategy to prepare its youth for job prospects beyond the state and in the global job market.
