A six-year-old boy has died at a private school in Visakhapatnam. His family claims that he was beaten by a teacher for not completing his homework. The incident has raised serious concerns about student safety and disciplinary practices in educational institutions.
Pranay left home on Thursday morning in what appeared to be good health, according to the family. The child, identified as Pranay Teja, was reportedly taken ill inside his classroom at Little Garden School, a private school in the One Town area. He was later brought to King George Hospital (KGH), where doctors declared him dead. His family has alleged that he collapsed after being beaten by a teacher with a stick. “We thought, ‘Okay, exams are coming up soon, so let him go. “The local cooks who work near my brother-in-law’s place called and informed me.
“In the morning around 8:00 AM, my son woke up and said he wanted to go to school.
His father said the child had himself insisted on going to school that day. He insisted on going to school,” the father said, recounting the events leading up to the tragedy. He said, ‘Alright Dad, I’m leaving,’ and went to school,” the father said. The father said that at around noon, he received a phone call informing him that something had happened to his son, though the call did not come directly from the school. “No one from the school called me,” he said. The father said the family later sought information about what had happened inside the school and was shown CCTV footage that, according to them, showed the teacher hitting the child.
