India and Singapore have finalized agreements focusing on telecommunications and food security. The two nations also discussed opportunities for collaboration in several advanced sectors, including small modular reactors (SMRs), semiconductors, space, and cybersecurity. These developments emerged from a meeting held on Thursday as part of a special bilateral ministerial mechanism.
New Agreements Enhance India-Singapore Cooperation
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India and the Singapore Food Agency to boost collaboration in food safety. In addition, a letter of intent (LoI) was exchanged between the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) and Singapore’s Info-Communications Media Development Authority (IMDA), aimed at enhancing cooperation in telecommunications and broadcasting. Another MoU is set to promote cooperation in maritime heritage.
