Indian authorities removed queue management barriers and unauthorised structures outside the Pakistan High Commission in a tit-for-tat action following the removal of certain structures outside the Indian mission in Islamabad, people familiar with the matter said on Thursday.
Demolition Near Pakistan High Commission Amidst Diplomatic Tensions
On Wednesday, authorities utilized heavy machinery to demolish structures adjacent to the visa section of the Pakistan High Commission. This area is located on a small road outside the mission’s compound, as reported by anonymous sources.
This action followed the removal of barricades and parking poles outside the Indian High Commission in Islamabad just two days prior. The Indian High Commission is situated within a high-security diplomatic enclave near the foreign ministry. Despite a formal protest from India, Pakistani authorities proceeded with their demolition, asserting it is part of a plan to widen the road.
