This incident occurred just hours after he was allegedly caught using a mobile phone to access ChatGPT during a mid-semester examination.
In the wake of this tragedy, students at IIT Bombay are calling for significant improvements to mental health support services. They are advocating for a comprehensive counseling system, the availability of a psychiatrist around the clock, and enhanced transparency in the handling of complaints. Furthermore, they are demanding a disciplinary process that prevents students from experiencing severe emotional distress when facing consequences for rule violations.
