Violence Erupts in Khasi Hills as Political Offices Targeted
A petrol bomb was thrown at the former office of the National People’s Party in Lachumiere around 5 am, but it failed to detonate, according to police reports. Authorities have dispatched a police and forensic team to the scene to gather evidence and have initiated a formal investigation.
In a separate incident on Thursday night, two government vehicles were set on fire by unidentified individuals in Nongstoin, located in West Khasi Hills. These acts of vandalism highlight the rising tensions in the region.
