He added that the installation marks the jewellery store’s third year celebrating the festival. A 24-carat gold-plated idol of Lord Ganesha, decorated with 383,800 American diamonds, has been installed at Lichi Pearl Set Jewels in Begum Bazar to mark Ganesh Chaturthi.
Adhar Agarwal, organiser at Lichi Pearl Set Jewels, said the idol was specially made for this year’s celebrations.
We have been installing Ganesha idols for the past two years, and this is our third year of celebrations. This year, we wanted to do something special, so with Lord Ganesha’s blessings, we commissioned this beautiful idol. At the back arch of the idol, a glimpse of Dasavataram has been incorporated, while Balaji is placed at the top, with Saraswati and Lakshmi on the sides. These are the same things used in our fashion jewellery. So we thought of giving a jewellery touch to the idol.
Speaking to ANI, Agarwal said, “We have created this 24-carat gold-plated Lord Ganesha idol. “The idol is completely studded with 3,83,800 American diamonds.
He said the idol is made of brass and uses five different metals. Whatever raw materials are used in our fashion jewellery, the same raw materials we have used in the idol,” Agarwal said. He said the idol was intricately crafted, with each stone hand-fitted, and eight workers had worked on it day and night for eight months.
Agarwal’s Team Crafts Unique Ganpati Idol
Agarwal announced that his team has successfully created a stunning idol of Lord Ganesha, inspired by the renowned Lalbagh ka Raja. The team, which includes card designers, casting experts, stone setters, and polishing workers, has dedicated countless hours to this project.
Agarwal emphasized the significance of the Ganpati festival in his life, having grown up in Hyderabad’s Old City. He expressed a lifelong aspiration to contribute something special to the celebration. This year, he feels fortunate that they were given the opportunity to create this remarkable idol.
